I moved the wheel forward mate, I did another one where I moved the wheel up without coming forward, I will put that one up later for you.

top front bar cut down and tacked in place

So roll cage is all tacked together ,i now need to drop it through holes and weld it full

one of the rear bars trimmed up

not really sure how high up people have them , but this looks good to me

rear seats will need some trimming.

This pic with wheel just moved up, not altered length of car or wing etc in either this pic or the previous one.

Ok this is with the arch cut down to follow the wheel, I have kept the original arch shape so this is what it would look like chopped to fit, the overall wing is still at the original size.

I know front edge of arch is shorter than back but how does main section of passenger arch sit on drivers side? Bottom will have to be cut/ adjusted but where your arch now overlaps as moved back would this fill gap at front of arch on opposite side?

cheers tony , given me confidence that it might work.

PMSL @ Jon, long distance fabrication, love it.

Matt, I also think this will work, you will just have to have an infill piece for the front of the wing to the arch, otherwise its looking good.

lowered rollcage through holes , and fully seam welded . then got some primer on it ,

then some wheeler dealers satin black :

i then raised , and fitted / welded in spreader plates ( no pics )

then welded in rear turret supports

again primer , then satin black

then popped the drivers seat back in , and got it out of garage

this build is epic, you should get in touch with Classic Ford and get it in their grafters section, I definitely reckon they'd be interested!

Wife went out , kids around nans , I took myself out to the garage :

ok time to start filling holes , had to cut a section out of old escort sill to get it to fit on chassis , looking back i did not need to ... but was rushing !

so popped rear bubble arch of , and this is a hole :

tacked on the old part of the sill that i kept.

did some welding and ground back a bit , was always going to need filler , and part of this is covered by arch ... im not a panel beater , so will let filler do the work later ! lol

then moved onto rear arch , trimmed it back to the subaru arch so i can tub it at the same time

then cut some 1mm sheet , and bent and tacked into position ...

started welding it up .. but got burnt to much .. so moved onto the dash !
the escort is narrower than the subaru , so dash needs some trimming

                                carefully cut one end off

                                then the other end

you then have some bits :

                                then .. bosh :

one subaru dash in an escort :

i think it looks pretty good ... allot more work , and not sure if i can make room for the two end vents , so might have to just live with the centre ones ?

also need re make around the windscreen line ... but thats another day
