Thanks for that , i've just noticed you have a pic of Burtons shop front in your siggy so i presume you work there . It must be well handy having that place as a local shop , shame they've not got a south london branch .

My new re-freshed engine bottom end is nearly finished and i'm picking it up at the weekend . The deck height and pistons have since been further modified as we've now stepped up our game too maxium attack .
I'll take some pics at the weekend before i fit the head and build the rest up . Here's a pic of the new rod although it's the same as the old ones , just more shiney .

I had a strange water loss and couldn't work out why ?? It passed all the usual garage tests so in the end i took the head off last september for a look . The head looked corrorded so i had it welded and completely overhauled and improved at the same time . When i put it back on at xmas the same thing was happening so this time i stripped the engine and found that the block was cracked . The engine is now better than before and should go like foooooooooook .

                      Spec is :
Race Vulcan head with 27.5mm ports and 16x new valves .
Allan Hassell motorsport lightweight custom made Isky valve springs , machined spring platforms , smoothed ports , cut down valve guides and BD4 + W14 cams .
ARP stud kit with WRC multi shim head gasket .
Alan Hassell motorsport 205 pinto block machined by Julian Godfrey race engines with oil spray under piston jets , lowered deck height + polished face for WRC gasket , modified accralite 12:1 forged pistons , lightweight Fardon steel rods , cosworth steel crank , Burton steel flywheel , titain dry sump system .
Jenvey 48mm throttle bodies with Omex 600 full engine management by Chris Todd at Torque of the Devil .
Tony Law 4-2-1 exhaust manifold etc etc .

Power was 180 bhp at the wheels , 215bhp at the flywheel on pump fuel on the Dyno-Dynamics rollers or 262 bhp and 258bhp at the flywheel on the old style "coastdown" rollers at a few other places . I only quote Dyno-Dynamics power these days so it was 180 at the wheels then .
Should be approx 200bhp at the wheels this time i hope .

Just spent a couple of hours pumping clean oil from the main tank in the boot through the main oil line to the engine . Foooooooooooook me , the shite that came out was unreal , looked like cold mushroom soup with lumps in !!!!!!!
Going to fit the head tomorrow night then pump the return lines clean before firing it up .
