Pretty easy - I just cut a section (35mm) out of it and welded it together again. Then cut the rod down that connects to the button and cut a new thread on the end and reassembled it.
The center console is finished and the wiring loom is complete with the exception of the engine loom, which I can't do until I've got the proper engine in.

The switches have LEDs in them - a lot neater than trying to mount lots of separate LEDs:

Mark got me some thin metal sheet and I filled the gap between the old boot hinge mounts and the rear quarters:
Well, I didn't make Blackpool... I had delays on the delivery of the seats and some other parts - but I still have a fair bit to do anyway. So I went snowboarding for a week...
But, I am still making good progress. I got the front panels fitted and one of the wings on at the weekend. The seat rails are in and the new engine is just about ready. I'll update with some more pics soon.
(And I sold the Zetec last weekend, so that will help to pay for the new engine )
