Another update...
The bits from the rear of the roll cage have been recycled to make a triangulation to the front strut tops:
(These will bolt onto a piece under the front wing, welded to the strut top)
The gearbox tunnel is in (I still have to finish off around the bulkhead which needs some work as yet). And the floor stiffener boxes are now fitted:
Some brackets to hold the new gearbox crossmember that we're making:
Skids for the 4-link brackets:
...and here you can see the line of the floor plan and the exhaust tunnel:
that was this weekend's fun...

very nice, good idea to triangulate the front with splash shields removed, have you inserted bolt tubes to mount crossmember on? that is worth doing. One thing i would say is that the 4 link box skids look good as a skid but i am not sure they will support the box as well as a fully boxed skid. Anyhow your welding looks very good, fair play

I am planning on fitting tubes in the chassis rails to support the crossmember, although I will be using chassis mounted engine mounts anyway.
And I know what you mean about the skids - but the boxes themselves are well located on the crossmember and they're the grp 4 style rather than the clubmans, so the covers for the link arms give it some strength too.

So another busy weekend.
The cage is now finished:
This has to be a contender for weld of the week... sadly though, it wasn't my weld, but was in fact Mark's:
He did a pretty good job with this weld too:
But then again, I was fairly chuffed with one of mine on the compression strut bracket:
I had some repairs to do to the inner wings before I could fit the wing rails. At the front, under the slam panel...
...cut it all out:
...welded in a flush fit new piece:
...and then ground it down:
A nasty hole up near the bonnet hinge:
...cut it all away:
...new metal:
...and now its ready for the wing rail:
Wing rails and splash shields fitted:
And then I had to take a notch out of the strengthening gusset to make a bit of extra room for the exhaust to miss the steering column - now that the manifold will be on the drivers side. This is what it did look like (passenger side):
...and here's my modified one:
and finally, last time I forgot to take any pics of the exhaust tunnel from inside the car. So here is one:
