About time for an update...
Not a massive amount to see really. Over Christmas and New Year I got the inside painted:
And I've now turned my attention to the wiring:
I'm making up a new center console. I wasn't happy with the way the old fuse boxes fitted and I'd grafted some bits to the loom over time, so now its time to do a proper job:
...but this is still work in progress as it is very time consuming:
I'm hoping to get the new engine soon, so I can trial fit it and finalise the gearbox mounts - and then we'll make the exhaust.

Another update! That's two in two days... good huh?
I collected a dummy engine last night, so had a quick go at lining everything up to make sure my gearbox crossmember was going to be in the correct place.
(sorry for the image quality - these were taken on my phone)
First off, a look at the dry sump of the real engine. Should be plenty of room to clear the steering rack:
And here's the dummy engine sitting in what should be its final position:
I even put the gear lever hole in the correct place:
It fits so well it almost looks like it was planned that way:

Today's update...
I recycled my old anti-tramp bars to make a new gearbox crossmember.
Started with the bushes & tubes:
...and then welded them into a piece of channel that Mark had folded up for me. It fits tightly on to the mounting post of the gearbox tail section:
All welded up:
Final test fit:
Then painted it:
And it's on:
Nice ground clearance:
Oh, and I shortened the handbrake lever also as it was a bit too close to the gear lever:
(I'm using Cossie rear calipers. The cable operation will be from the standard handbrake lever - so there will be no chance of scrutineering problems. I'll also run a vertical lever hydraulic handbrake again, but this time it won't have any cable attachment.)
