I stopped 5 1/2 years ago, I drive a lorry for a living, so I won't say it was easy!!!!! But I did really want to stop, oh and I carried an unopened 200 pack of Regal king size in my truck for at least 3 months, If i'd opened them I would still be smoking today!! All I can say is good luck to all that would like to quit
PS All these people that tell you that you'll be so much better off financially, they're bloody liars!! It just means I have to buy the missus tabs now...
good luck vinny, i did manage to kick it for a year until stress at work got me puffin again (****,i know!) but the key to stopping i found was not putting yourself in the situations where you would normally crave a fag most ie:- stay out of pub for a while etc then after a month or so you will get your sense of smell back and the pub is so smokey and smelly that you realise how antisocial it is(which you dont when you are smoking)that you wont want to smoke...by the way the patches really do help so if it gets tough give them a try!best of luck to all of you kicking the habit.
