Really don't want to bring shell lower as at the moment it lines upwith floor pan

Also it would cause more problems around the windcreen area

I think some 30mm lowering springs should sort it out

It's never going to be the lowest escort around

Maybe it wont be the lowest escort around but i bet it will be real good fun!! Good luck with the rest of the build, looking forward to seeing how you make the cage inside the sills and how you close the inner sills off.

got some time to test fit some of the front panels , its going to be very tight up front for rad , but i still think its possible.

have been thinking of lowering shell a bit more , but if i do it causes other headaches around dash etc , as i wanted to keep subaru dash / heater etc.

will have a think on it

got a few busy weekends coming up , so no updates for a few weeks sadly

Hello Matt have you looked into boot mounting your rad might make fitting your front panel easier or more room for intercooler. I take it you want the car to look as standard as possible. One option for your dash might be make a frame out of small tubing and fill in with sheet metal and transfer sub dash controls in.
Will be a fun car when built

thats is an option as well , but would like to keep the boot useable ..

maybe i am asking to much from this

other option is to extend the front end , but again dont want to do that...

i need to get the front end place and bolted down first , then i can really see what space i dont have

looking good...think you will ave to add some steel to the arches otherwise it will look so wrong....a few others have this conversion done and thats what they did...car sits better etc....

more front end work , bonnet hindges tacked in and located .

front panel is now mounted with bolts , think i will bond front panel to wings in the end.

HI matt, whne i read the title I said to myslef WHY????

but having seen the last couple of piccys I think I get it now.

A couple of suggestions for the rad and intercooler. I would run the rad in boot floor as has been suggested before and look to get intercooler mounted near the engine but taking cold air feed from under car....

the subaru bonnet scoop will imho ruin the look of the car but its your car so more power to you for having a crack at it.

                              ...or buftying.

                                hi , thanks,

i get all your points , i need to have a think about what i will really use the car for ... will i need a boot etc , can i still have some sort of boot , even with rad in etc..

i am still unsure on scoop in bonnet , but the bonnet is a patent , and the rear edge curve does not match the caar at all .. so i am also happy to ruin it by putting a scoop on it

also if i go scoop to start with , its one less thing to worry about at the moment.

Just trying to get it solid enough to bring her home ,as its "waiting at a mates" place

i have come up with an idea for a rad fan setup , not sure if its crazy clever , or stupid yet .. but will show people once/if i try it...

                                Matt
