Isn't it a transformation when you get some colour on even if its only stonechip?
BTW mate i have decided against that Copper car, I would love to do it but its a leap too far for me, I think it would end up bogged down going nowhere. I have to face facts i dont have the skills or the balls to take it on.sigpic

Thank you for the comments , Im trying to get as much time on the car as poss at the min, got a little further today, finished welding the N/S sill on and made/welded a piece to join the sill to the A post, another job off the list. N/S is about 95% welded underneath now and O/S probably about 80% done, a few good evenings and a weekend should see the bottom ready for some colour at last

Not had much time on car lately, but getting back on track again,
Put some primer on the floor at last, starting to look like a car again
Plus, making a start on this too, once this wheel arch and under tank area are done I only have a bit on the rear valance to sort and the O/S chassis leg to repair in a few places and then the underside will be welded at last

Finished off the rear N/S inner arch the other night but forgot to take any photos lol, will get some taken and posted up.
Today I concentrated on sorting out the N/S chassis section that had rotted away, took me about 4 hrs to do, I started with this
There are 3 layers of metal here, so I made up 3 repair plates
First plate going in
second plate in position
second plate being plug welded into place, the small hole without weld in it will be the jacking point hole when I drill it out to size
I put plenty of weld around this middle plate
Cleaned up the weld a little so that the top plate could go on, also sprayed some weld through etch primer on the second plate
Top plate now going on, screwdriver was keeping the jacking point holes aligned
Clean up the welding
Bit more etch primer, and it doesnt look too bad does it ?
Another view showing how flat it now is, will need a thin skim of filler to make it spot on
Then when I spin the car over, I have this to sort out lol

Thanks Guys, as for colour Gazza, kermit was originally venetian red, I am currently thinking signal orange
Got a little more done, this time where the petrol tank sits, and as per usual, cut out the rot and put some new plates in
While sorting this out, I might as well catch up on the wheel arch and wheel well at the same time seeing as they all join together
This is how it presently stands, with the bit in the corner left to sort out hopefully tomorrow evening and then clean it up before covering it in stoneguard, must remember to drill new petrol tank mounting hole first lol
