Im really happy this evening because the underside is now complete as far as welding goes, Yippee. I want to finish off little bits on the inside floor area now before putting colour on, just in case any more welding is required anywhere lol.

Thanks again everyone, been busy trying to get my garage building regs sorted, bricks picked and ordered and so on etc, so not really had much time on the car, but what time I have had on it, I managed to get quite a few of the little nick nack jobs finished so now the bottom is ready for paint.
In the mean time I decided to clean the diff up ready to paint and found this lot under the crap lol, so replacement casing now required , I suppose I have to expect things like this with the car being stood 20 years.

but on a good note ive been out and bought the signal orange paint for the underside

There are plenty knocking about on Ebay to be fair and you might as well send it straight to powder coating beforehand. Get a nice finish on there from the off.

That's a shame about that axle casing tony, luckily the one I got had quite a good oil leak for a long time it was caked in years worth of oil and grime , luckily it was pretty mint underneath all the muck. I agree with the powder coating or a good shot blast and a coat of paint, get all the rust out

I managed to source another diff from a mate, so I just have to arrange a day and time to go and get it, in the mean time this evening the following happened.

I just couldn't let 2 ltr of Signal Orange just sit in the tin now could I lol, so while Julie was busy doing some gardening, I disappeared into the garage for a while. The Orange doesn't look as bright under the fluorescent lighting as it appears in the flesh, or as glossy either.
