Great fast service from Titan Motorsport as usual so my oil pump is rebuilt /working and back home already . Wish i'd sent it in July now instead of wasting my time mucking about with it .
I'll fit it all back together soon and fire it back up again . It should have fixed my oil pressure problems hopefully but we'll see .

Gaz I'm guessing the box section welded to the hub carrier was so you could set a ride height, then build the suspension pick ups to suit.
Certainly looks like you thought about it before putting it all together.
How many times has it been reworked or has it gone together first time round..?
It's a Renault UN1 mate . Porsche 911 turbo box going in if this breaks .

It's been designed on a motorsport CAD program so built 1st time by a professional chassis shop . The ride height was pre-planned and all the hub carriers and suspension parts are custom made too suit the car . All tube work is lightweight chrome-molly which is 25% lighter than CDS steel tube and 4x's stronger .
Looking to go 0-150mph in 9secs with handling too match so you can't take chances at crashing at those speeds , lol .

I don't know where you got your numbers about the chromoly though. It's the same weight as CDS, size for size. It is stronger though, 4130 chromoly in the N condition (which your's will have been, given it's been welded) is about 40% stronger than CDS, therefore you can use thinner wall tube to gain the same strength... That's where you get the weight saving from.
That's what i meant , it's alot stronger than CDS tubing and you save alot of the weight . He gave my the choice of the two types but said that using CDS in a 9sec car would be too dangerous in a smash and i'd need a drivers cage as well .
I didn't fancy sitting inside a bird cage so paid the extra ,lol .

I couldnt quite put my finger on it but now i see its a UN1 box lol! They are good for a decent amount of power but 500bhp off the strip might cripple it! Nice work, be interested to know when your running it,i think i have seen a white one with a sissy bar on the back do some good runs at bug jam (santa pod) a couple of years back was a seriously quick car.
It's alot more than 500bhp but the car's tiny so less stress on the gearbox than usual . They are cheap and i have a few in stock so if they break then i'll get a Porsche turbo box later . There's enough room in the chassis to take the better gearbox if required .
The white fiat 600 you've seen at the VW shows is Peter's car . He has a nitrous 2.3 beetle engine in the back . Very fast machine that .

Yes it is a very fast car, We should see some more old fords at these big events at santa pod. Last year at bug jam there was over 35 thousand people and dont recall seeing one old ford all weekend, i know its a vw show but its still about drag racing to. The autlaw anglias are awesome tho!
I might take my mk1 escort to bug jam next year then . I like all the air cooled stuff as well so would be great i reckon .

U should do it mate, when i first startred going to bug jam about 10 yr ago there used to be alsorts of relics cruising about, ive been into the vw scene for a long time but enjoy seeing anything old different or fast, in recent years there hasnt been much different and as the vw shows seem to get the biggest gatherings i think some old fords blowing the flat fours down the strip would be good
