The previous owner cut away the heater bowl and bulkhead so I've decided to fill in the bulkhead and find a new heater bowl (cash waiting if you have one), I'll fit a heated screen and probably fit a mini heater.

It's not perfect but just requires a bit of panel beating when I get hold of a heater bowl, besides this will not be seen.

I just wasn't happy with the fabrication work on the heater bowl bulkhead, I know it's not going to be seen but just had to do it better for my own pease of mind!!!!

You're still going to be needing air intake" though, surely? Where's the air going to come from if not through the plenum?

I'll be fitting something like this kit

It comes with it's own plenum chamber, when I get it I'll fit the chamber as instructed, may be better fitted in the existing chamber, at least I've got a nice clean panel to cut and shape.

They also sell all the fittings and other heaters so I'm not stuck for heating, cooling is another matter!!!!!!!!!

While I'm waiting for the delivery of a lower radiator crossmember thought I would repair the scuttle panel as they are difficult to get hold of.

I'll finish off with a skim of filler when it's welded to the car.

Burn't out my 10yr old (but hardly used) Black & Decker grinder last week so just bought a Dewalt.

Got inspired after reading Windy's Mk2 build and did some more welding.

good to see someone patching those holes on the rear pillar...usually see that missed on alot of cars.

                          Coming on well

                          Keep at it!

Got around to fitting the new lower radiator crossmember today. The bottom area of both radiator side panels got damaged drilling out the spot welds, I fabricated new patch panels so that the crossmember had something to attach too.

Next job is to fit a radiator cut out panel to accomadate the larger Group4 rad, then fit the slam panel and front panel.

While I'm waiting for the rad cut out, started to remove the chassis engine mounts as they are not Historic legal.

Just need to run a bead of weld along the inside edge as the grinder cut a bit too far!!!! I'll grind it back down and finish off with the usual skim of filler.

I'll cut off the other side tomorrow.
