Getting expensive this build, there goes another £550 into Rimmers pocket, I must stay off their website, imagine having a computer infront of you with all the mk2 parts on exploded diagrams, all you have to do is click it and add it to your order, too easy to do until the bill comes through .

Opted for the GAZ adjustable inserts for the front, spoke to a few people in the trade and they had good things to say about them. Should keep me busy building bits next week.

    Cheers, Paul

    Yes my hands were shaking

No probs, not sure Father has any cream left at his age

Powder coating is in town Alec, Clive Hasley stone mason opposite Quick Fit, bought all the gear in just to do his own classic bikes, doesn't advertise as such but his work is first class and very reasonable.

          Cheers, son

Used the gas inserts on my Factory TR8 , I had 2 of them and what a difference in handling between the 2 cars, I spent a lot of dosh with Rimmer bros. but worth every penny.

Up until yesterday another shell was occupying my turn over frame, now that its freed up I have put the new shell onto it to have a clean underneath. The car is in its original cathodic coating but over the years a few small areas have lifted and a little surface rust has settled, gave these areas a wire brush today and it is nothing to worry about.

Undecided whether to strip the lot back to bare metal or just 'key' it and put another primer coat on top. Dunno if underside will be black or body colour , which I have narrowed to green or red.

                cheers, son

do it body colour paul, all the detailed hard work will show through much better, nothing looks better than bolting new parts onto a coloured underside, you won't have it long enough to worry about it getting dirty
