good 60ft time. must hook up well despite the lack of rubber.
any thoughts of doing track days?

I shall be stripping the car out later and doing a few circuits just to see what times i can do . I should then also be able to run street legal 11sec 1/4's as well . I don't really want a race car so i will put all the heavy bits back on/in afterwards though .
The 175mm tyres are plenty wide enough if you drive it right (so no full throttle 1st gear launches then) . I just pull off semi-quickly at lowish revs and then floor it at about 20mph to give it a chance to hook up . I don't bother with burnouts either and it still goes like fooooook !!!!!!!

I also had a new custom made single box exhaust fitted today in place of the twin box Ashley that was banging + vibrating on the floor , spring hanger + axle casing . It's much better now but foooookin loud , the old bill can hear it from 2 miles away

Some exhaust pics then . I went for a standardish look so no slash cut rolled lip drain pipes as seen on all the Saxos with mesh bumpers !!!!!!!

Here's a side on view . The exhaust man done a great job of tucking the system right up out of the way . i now have lots of ground clearance compared to the old one .

Here's the view from underneath . The exhaust place also custom made the rear box and some sturdy mountings as well . It only took him 2 hours to build and fit the whole lot and it's guaranteed for life . Cheap as well at £175 + VAT , still some bargains about after all .

It sounds good and mean with a nice crackle when you lift off the throttle . I don't think the neighbours are impressed though !!!!!!!

Yes mate £200 all in and fitted is a great price . He loves his Escorts down there as well , he owns a 1969 mk1 himself and told me that he'd rather do exhausts on old Fords than work on all the new shite .

Cheers Shifty . We're doing some cam swinging and mapping at Torque of the Devil tomorrow so stand by for new dyno-graphs as i need a bit more power for a 12.5sec pass on street rubber on Classic Ford day . It's going to be tricky but he who dares wins .
