Thanks chaps , stand by for dyno results + videos at the end of the week when i've done a few more miles . I'll be trying to get a street legal and "comfy" 12sec 1/4 mile (so straight off the street without slicks , gas , turbos and half the car missing) at the RS owners club central day meet at Santa Pod next sunday . As far as i know (several years of internet banter weeding out the bluffers etc) no 4 cylinder retro ford has ever done this whilst at full weight without having to resort to power adders (turbos , nitrous) or sticky slicks so it won't be easy .
I only have little 175mm tyres so will need to go easy in the first two gears and then unleash hell in 3rd and 4th , GO ON THE ATMO COSSIE !!!!!!!!

lol , but they won't fit without bubble arches . I like the sleeper looks better , plus it upsets the subaru lot when an old standard looking escort kicks their arse off the lights !!!!!!!

1st breakdown of the year today , not bad considering i've been out twice . Bloody core plug flew out comming home from box hill this afternoon . Sod knows where it went though as we spent 1/2 hour looking for it and then gave up and called in the recovery truck . Then went home on a trailer (trailer queen at last)

i would have thought a high powered example like yours would have the core plugs pinned,even mine with a hairdryer,slicks,nitrous,and all the car missing has the core plugs pinned,hopefully no damage done

No pinned core plugs on mine as it's got no power compared too everyone else (shame they can't keep up then) . I may put some glue on the foooookers this time though or Gripfill a strip of wood over them .

They've never had a core plug come out before even after many years of racing , mines the 1st . I'll find out about the H.T. bolt in jobs then i think .

Hammered in a new core plug tonight and have just been out in the car for a few hours whilst the roads are clear and dry . Proper terrified the queue outside the local nightclub when i unleashed the trumpet roar in 2nd gear at 200 decibles !!!!!!! . Ha Ha 50 of them shat themselves for sure .
I'm still trying to be sensible with the throttle but now reving it upto 6000 revs on about 3/4 throttle at present and foooooooooooook me is it quick !!!!!! .
