    Tommy

"Tommy bought it back it's sitting in his garage along with his mk1 RS2000,mk2 rs2000 ,another two 1600i,and a focus rs
P.s tommy never had it on the track mate that's another one."

Tommy still has KKM, a Mk1 RS2 and Focus RS but he's had a wee clear out of late.
Luckily I picked up the Mk2 RS2 after Nat Day last year, it's currently sitting down at Neil Arnold's awaiting resto.

It has always been tempting to sell up with the lure of pound signs but I would rather have the RS and as a member on here once told me everyone has money of some sorts in their back pocket but you cant easily come by a good RS escort. I must be gutting to sell up if you have no choice I have been lucky I suppose.
I diversified by buying an old E30 318is BMW a few years back restored it and stupidly sold that and now these have gone mental money wise. Latest project is a VW Corrado VR6 on the hope that prices will go up.
I would rather it was an RS1800 escort but a lottery win would be required.

This site has always kept my interest

I wish everyone having personal issues the very best http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/...ons/icon14.gif

      Cheers Neil

          Shocked and saddened Paul....

Hope all is well and continues with improvement

We must remember that our cars are always a hobby and we oldies are very lucky to own them from old.

We must enjoy them as much as we can because one day we won't be able to.

If you are lucky enough to own an Escort, drive it as much as possible before it's too late !

Paul.....you have struck a chord.......and best wishes pal

                Good points Tim

My brother and best man were also on a sensible budget, so went for a Capri Mk1 v4 auto and a Cortina Mk3 2000e both well under 5k. Although they have both made on their follies, that has never been the point, with all cars not for sale until after death!

                Best Regards

I have been fortunate to have owned quite a few Ford Escorts as Driving School cars ,Capri,s,XR2 etc ,but the best buy was a Black RS 2000 custom in 1978 for £3500 .Still have car,it's used in summer, and enjoyed . I like to see these cars on display at shows that are trailered there and back ,but don't see the excitement involved in sitting at the back of my car with the wife eating our sandwiches, while others view my car .Everyones choice ,but for me at 75 years old I need to use the car for MY enjoyment

I used to go to rsoc national day int he 90's when i owned a xr2. Got into classic scene in 02 with an rs2000 mk2. Always wanted one. Hopefully will never have to part with mine.
The scene has altered massively since i've been involved and deffo not for the better.

Fortunately i manage to keep in touch with the good lads in the scene mostly thru this site and bookface.

I bought it a few years back and Tommy heard I had it and beat a path to my door wanting it back. It was in a bit of a state but interior was perfect and a few good bits on it
