In my book, if it didn't leave the factory as an RS it can't be an RS.

REALLY ? id have thought that a pro-reshell (ie L or a GL) with rs bits on isnt an RS cos it never started life as an RS shell from the factory lines -

ones like mine, although only 80% of the original shell DNA remaing, is still an RS and id guess the majority would say so ..............

                        interesting ........

Seriously though, people looking to buy genuine Mk1 & 2 RS Escorts will usually speak to the relative club for that marque.
One because the car may already be known to the club & two you will get all the buying advice you need.
Escpecially when it comes to identifying if a car is original or not.

There is far more than just a type 49 stregthening kit to a proper RS Escort.
DO YOU MEAN REPLICA SPORT, lets face it all have had something done by now. there all old
Old escorts, better than a pension plan.

Exactly right, and dont forget escorts were made to be an everyday car back then, not a weekend only and special occassion car like Rollers and the like were.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.
