Nope. Still on it's original shell. Re-shells into non-RS Shells designate replicas.

Look, we’ve got guys nodding off now. But I'll carry on!!

OK, so a new wing and it’s still an RS shell. What about new, repro, everything apart from roof, bulkhead and B posts…for example. Still an RS shell?

If not, when did it stop being an RS shell? New sills? Inner wings? Floors?

Frosty I think you're being a bit too simples However a v5 an logbook does not an RS make....so sayeth the shepherd so sayeth the flock.

I've seen a few rs's in my days as hae all of you but there's one in praticular from the north of England which had just about every panel replaced bar the roof that sticks in the memory. This was in 1996 and it was an RS. I'm pretty sure it's still around......no names though, but it was a major resto and even the guy who owned at the time said it was borderline scrapping it

Surely that can't be an RS Still??? There's stuff all of the body left??????

                .....and then the fight started
                Life is Racing......

                  If your add these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/L-K-ESCORT...item3cc12e0c48
to a standard spec shell. isn't all that you are doing is bring that shell
upto an "RS" spec. It's not an RS Escort until you add all the trim glass engine box..etc

Well considering the comments I will declare my RS2000 to be a replica as it has has wings and innerwings fitted at some point in its life

                    So Replica it is ,,

I think that may be the main point, Alan. 99.9% of us are running around in non-original cars. There can only be a tiny number of cars with all their original panels and their original paint now left.

So it's just the degree of non-originality that upsets some folks!

And I totally agree with KiwiRS that the shell is just one component that makes up what is an RS. The car has to be taken as a whole, and evaluated regarding just how authentic the car really is.
