After reading the thread on the RS 1800 Custom for sale it strengthens the worry i personaly have of selling my car in a safe way??
How or what is the best/safe way??
People go to great lengths to get these cars and thats one of the reasons for not putting mine on the open market.
So what is the way would you say???
And just to be straight!! this is not a dig at any of the remarks on the thread nor is it a way of putting a indirect for sale add on here!! as many who have spoken with me over the last 6-8 months about the issue will confirm.
Regards John

, tough one, wish i had the answer
Best way if you don't want to handle the cash is get buyer to view car, take cash deposit, then get them to bank transfer the money. Set yourself up with internet banking, you can see it go in. For their piece of mind show them passport drivers licence utility bills etc confirming who you are. The rest is down to good old fashioned trust and follow your instincts. Never take a cheque drawn on a foreign bank, these can be returned weeks later. The normal clearing time (uk clearing banks, not building soc)for a cheque when i worked at barclays was 4.5 working days.(granted 20 years ago) We could still ring the drawers bank with a "late return" on the middle of the 5th working day!
