spoke to slark speed today,the figure i put up was wrongbut i didnt know.the correct figure is 148lb. which is still good. the reason for the high figure is to do with there air temp sensor or something.so sorry for the mix up(why am i saying sorry?) GJ ITS YOUR FAULT.

Don't worry mate , most rolling roads don't bother getting the air temps correct and this makes them look better when they give an engine a power run afterwards !!!!!!!!

Blimey , less than all these 4 cylinder 2.3 duratecs then (or so they reckon) .

Oh, and as someone has allready mentioned .. stroke plays a part in the torque curve .. and as F1 engines have a stroke of less than 40mm thats why they dont make high ft/lb per litre figures, but they do rev to 19,000 rpm

And we are not going to get into the "cheating debate " about turbos.. they are legal ..

Lol , 180bhp at the wheels on pump fuel and it drives nice . It should blast into the 12 second 1/4 mile bracket at the retro show (on street rubber and without any bits missing of course)

If anyones got a rolling road graph .. what about putting up your ft/lb per litre figure here .. thers loads of Pintos and x-flows in members cars, so we could have a good average from lots of engines and rolling roads.. this will give you some indication on ...

No it's not , a 2 litre is still a 2 litre but it will get fed more air if a turbo is slapped on it so the bhp + torque will go up not the capacity .
They only have different race classes because a turbo is a power adder and therefore cheating !!!!!!!!

This is simply not true, a turbo "effectively" increases the engine capacity and therefore if used in motorsport is given a multiplier if competing against n/a engines, as the "compressed" air equates to an increase in the swept volume in a n/a engine without "compressed air"

Yes rwdrs but a turbo is still a "power adder" and thus increases power and torque cos it stuffs the engine with extra air which it wouldn't normally recieve .

Rolling roads may lie BUT CLOCKS DON'T . Here's a full weight and comfy street legal mk1 escorts time slip (0-105mph in 13.4 secs) running on a cheap set of 175mm wide Yoko A539's . This is on the first attempt with only 215 dyno-dynamics bhp , it will run into the 12's next time out .
