    wow, i think Brett met Longman a few times - very knowledgable chap indeed ........................... Longman is too - will have to ask him next time i see him

    anyway, the whole question is what you mean by "driveability" ? there must be so many derivatives that makes a car "driveable" for one person and not so for another

    richy's engine has never been a 200bhp engine for that 157 flywheel figure - he may pm you to tell you what it was

    infact K, as you said before about readings, the engine was slackened off a bit because it gave better power down the graph, but even that was only about 5-8 bhp, but made a lot of difference

      paul gardner built me a pinto with 160@ the wheels and it was very driveable so there.

                          Thats what i was thinking. Even for a 2.3 thats going some for an old 8 valve lump. Its more like 75 per litre
