did some checking regarding the VAT issue: normally the private buyer of goods will have to pay the VAT. If smoov's company buys all the camcovers from the Germans then he doesn't have to pay VAT (both companies are VAT-registered in their own country). If smoov then sells them on to the rest of us he has to add the VAT as we are private (non-VAT registered) buyers. If he doesn't add the VAT then he might get into trouble if the Customs Dept. checks his books. If he buys only 1 camcover and sells it on without adding VAT he could get away with it saying it got lost (in the post or something).
I personally don't want to get Martin or another member here in trouble just to make a VAT-profit on the covers. So I would like to suggest that we get this camcover-train rolling and start sending taffr moneys so that we can make a definite order for both camcovers and fitting kits, and send a deposit to the Germans. Regarding the contract, as taffr holds the money he is the best person to sign it on our end.
If all orders have been placed with taffr, I will make a contract in English and German stating the number of camcovers and fitting kits ordered, that taffr is making a deposit of (probably) 33,3%, that one sample camcover will be send to rwdrs (?) as a proof, that taffr will send the rest of the money over after approval of rwdrs and that the Germans will send all the covers (except mine and possibly some other non-UK-residents) to taffr.
And if he fails to do so we will
Prices: from the postagecosts rwdrs posted I would suggest you add 10 euro to the price of the camcover (postage + packing). Don't think there will be extra charges for sending the fitting kits. The exchange-rate GBP-euro is approx. 1.33 atm, so if you want say 1 camcover then send taffr a cheque for 130,90 + 10 = 140,90 equals GBP 106. So maybe GBP 110 would be a good amount to send.
But for you send cheques I want taffr to confirm that he's okay with this. As he said somewhere above there might be some additional charges for posting items within the uk.
Taffr you okay with this unless someone has a bright idea about the VAT or other issues?
