  • Case got heard - midday - 4pm in the High Court and adjourned until today. We settled it late last night however. The result is a huge blow financially, but it should be survivable.

I hope to be able to keep the Escort, but will be signing over my home and garage.

I'll be laying low for a bit - need to take all this in and reflect on it all.

    • Dermot,

I've been through this and yes it's a bad thing financially and will take time to recover from in that sense but what it will do is allow to "heal" and focus on you.
The old saying time heals all is spot on in this case.

By the looks of it you've got support from the Rallyesport fraternity and you should take that support as a first step and find a new path in life.

It WILL get better and you will never look back.

Let's face you've got guys on the other side of the world putting a metaphorical arm around your shoulders.

Chin up and remember what monty python always say....

      • Time for an update for anyone who is interested:-

I moved house a few weeks ago. I thought it would be difficult but it wasn't. I'd lost interest in the old house, and needed to move on on several levels.

I'm now living in Lahinch, Co. Clare - right by the sea, and about a 50 minute drive to work. Communications are good so I'm commuting every other day. I've done a lot of work to upgrade and update the place here, and so far so good. It's very comfortable. It's a good spot - a small village I know well for years, with a fantastic world class links golf course where I'm lucky enough to be a member. Some good bars within 4 mins walk too. It's a summer place and I'm under no illusions about how harsh the winter might be. I've no mortgage and no debts. The house here is 100% paid for. Visitors welcome btw.

The RS2000 is in a huge industrial unit a couple of miles away, and I've easy access to it. Infact I'm hoping to buy a motorbike to keep it company (see other thread just started).

The kids love it here, and are in good form too.

I'm disappointed not to be able get to The Lakes Tour but it was never on the cards this year.

There are still a few issues to be tidied up domestically, but the big stuff is now done. It took years and cost a small fortune, but that couldn't be helped.

        Onwards and upwards!
