      Well here we go again!

Case is listed again for the High Court appeals next week 10/11/12th Nov. I'm told it should be either heard or settled this time out, but I've been to the trough too many times at this stage and am now deeply cynical. Cannot be helped I suppose.

Property prices have pretty much collapased here in Ireland, so wealth wise the pot is now much much smaller than it was. On top of all that the costs have escalated so much that I may be forced to sell the RS I think my side of the legal costs may be c. €25,000. It's a complete ballbreaker.

I'll report back late next week. Wish me luck

I was lucky with my divorce, 3 teenage kids, it was more of a "it's not working anymore" thing and we basically went our seperate ways, around the same time, after 24 years in the RAF, i was offered redundancy, this gave me the money to buy her half of the family home, clear all the debt and buy and build my RS, kids were given the choice once she had got accomodation and the 3 of them voted to stay with me. 6 years later, got a reasonably good job, oldest son married with his own house, a lovely daughter-in-law, my first grandchild due in march, and the other 2 of mine working and still at home. RS is built and been seen by a few of you at Lakes 2009, around 6 months after we split, my ex met someone else and as they seemed to be in a rush to get hitched, she filed for divorce and paid for it, happy days, didna cost me a dime.

                    Thanks Gents.

Believe it or not this thread gives me a lot of comfort and encouragement. I am in your debt.

                    • This just gets better and better.

I've now been informed that my Barrister cannot attend. Apparently we now have to get a new one and brief them in time for Wednesday morning!!! I'm less than confidant that's even possible. Even if it is how could a new person know the nuances of a complex case? One thing is for sure - the Barrister who has let me down last minute cannot expect much in payment for their efforts.

You really couldn't make this shit up.

Thankfully I have the kids this w/e, which will keep me sane.

                        • Update:

We eventually engaged the services of a back up Barrister. Confirmed and will be briefed
in time. He's getting a hefty box of files delivered tomorrow.

Maybe you heard of him, as it seems he's quite famous. His name is:-

Both him and his ex seem good people, just didn't work out.
Hope it works out for you.
