I'm not going mad with the bufty bit . 1x can of satin black for the x-member and steering rack and that's about it . It's quite bufty looking normally except for all the dead flies splattered all over it .

Just been down the garage to fit the new steering bits and :

New 2.5 quick rack = check
New GP4 steering joint = check
2x New rs2000 mk2 track rod ends to fit rack = check
2x New alloy steering rack mounts = check
2x Locknuts for the trackrod ends onto new steering rack = Doh , bollox , foooooooooooooook !!!

Bloody typical , so i still can't fit it .

Sure is mate , sourcing all the little bits and bobs takes the most time up for sure .
Anyway the racks in now so i just need to fit the trackrod ends later on . Engine's in (bottom end) as well and dry sump pump and oil lines etc .
I couldn't push the car out the garage so had to lift the engine in by hand as the hoist hits the garage roof .
Me and a mate just lifted it straight in without a rope or pole etc . We covered the slam panel with a blanket and lifted the engine onto that , then in one swoop dropped it into the x-member . Very easy and much quicker than any other method , proper old skool .
