got the head on today, HRH 'the Custom' called by yesterday and i must say the Head bolts he brought / loaned were a great help and made the job so much easier. thanks Dave.
with the head on, loads to get on with, and will post some pics as the week progresses,
It starts looking like a car again Graham.
Wonder if you can keep ahead of Ruddy ...
hi leon,
yes, i had a good look at it earlier, it now resembles something that could be used on the road, and i am very pleased with the way it is "quickly" coming together after years of seemingly nothing happening, im sure we all go through those periods and think that it will take forever, then suddenly you fit a bit, then another bit, in turn that helps to fit some other bits and suddenly progress is being made.
ah well, the above pic's are a couple of years ago when i had just removed the engine, since then you will have read about all the repair work, strengthening, gusseting, cleaning, painting etc etc, well today i got it all back in and whilst not yet ready to go, at least it is taking shape and i can now start looking for the bits needed to finish and then hopefully turn it over, some cables/ wires need fixing and routing though.
amazing how (due to the flash , i presume) some areas look "rusty" in the pic above, even though there is none at all, although saying that under the wing rails it has a bit of dust.
still quite a bit to do, but light at the end of the tunnel now
Just a couple of questions:
- where did you get that oilcatchtank (left on pic) from?
- where is the 2nd hose on that tank going to?
- will that small K&N filter in the back there give a good oil-mist? (yes)
- what cam & carbs you have?
