1600 sport Rep

Hi, i just joined a few days ago, and have to say this site is one of the better old ford and escort sites,

thought i would share my project with you all, its not an RS or anything though,

i purchased the car in october 2007 after being layed up since 1997, and with only 29k on the clock didn't seem to bad,

although the colour isn't great, i have really grown to like the colour, and can't wait to get it painted.

how it looked



1100cc




engine after a tidy up


stripped it out to check the condition





went for new wings and front panels and a couple of bits in the floors







few hundred quid lighter and it was back





fitted a different interior







then painted it with some spray cans, paint doesn't really match, but good enough until it goes for a proper respray.



pics after its 1st legal drive in 11 years





new wheels purchased





then the 1100 broke

so painted up the bay and changed for an 11k 1600 xflow





finished



changed the front a bit





fitted some spots but took them off now,





engine in and all MOT'd

Don't mind me asking, but what welding did you have done and what did it cost? Mine is going to be going for quotes soon and I'd like to get an idea of what is reasonable.

painted my new manifold, will be collecting the rest of the exhaust next week,



and fitted some spots.

hi its called Laurel Green, i image there wont be many left this colour as i doubt it was a big seller, and most probably were painted by now,

this was on ebay in october 2007, i got it on the 10th Oct 07.

I got the spots of a member on here, and they are perfect.

£92 not bad for 5 freshly powdercoated wheels

second hand £20, fitted cost me a crate of stella

new tax disc holder



and put orange indicators back on.
