many thanks lads,
so happy with the car, it needs some mechanical work sorting, the diff seems to have alot of slack in it and something knocks a bit sometimes, but i've done 290 miles since i filled up on saturday night, and haven't really been driving like an old granny.
will be getting the sport stripes on once i've got a bit of spare cash.
thanks again

shes off for an MOT tomorrow morning at 8:15
it will be her 3rd MOT since 1997 and its passed every year no problem.
just been out to check if it would start and it wouldn't.
bump started it and she was going ok then.
still haven't got my 1600 sport decals but that doesn't matter just want to get her to santa pod on sunday

i think alot of the pics in my thread have all done wrong
anyway, i decided not to do the 1600 sport decals yet, as i want to find a mint 1600 sport interior 1st so i put on what the car had when it was new and it looks great imo.

i don't really like the chrome wheel trims tax runs out in the end of september, so will see what funds are like and buy some new suspension and brake parts, as its a bit tired as most of its from 1977.Paul....

tax has run out now
don't think it will be used again next year either can't really afford it anymore. so its now in storage but i did get a few pics a couple of days before the tax ran out.
i was planning on removing the engine, box, axel, front suspension, and fitting a bias box or a servo tower, vented brakes with new calipers, might even do the rear discs for the looks more than anything, i needs a new steering rack, decambered leafs, all new bushes and fresh under seal job.
but its not going to happen i don't think
anyway the car will be in use again as soon as i can afford it.Paul....

thanks,
theres no way i would sell this car unless i really had too.
since i got it all i've done is change the shocks pads and discs, all the bushes tca's are all original from 1977 by the looks of it, so i need to get it all changed.
so i'll try and spend next year sorting it out, but when i bought this car i had 1 full time job and 1 part time job, and now i'm down to 11 hours a week so it leaves very little for spending on your hobbie.
i don't midn though, i've spent the last 3 years messing about with it so i can spending another one doesn't matter too much.

2011 will be the year the car has all its suspension. brakes etc sorted properly
the plans are
bias pedal box, capri vented calipers etc, new bushes all round tack rods etc, replace steering rack, re paint engine bay and engine and gearbox, fit an electronic ignition.
rear axel will have a better diff fitted so from a 4.1 to a 3.89, single leafs, rear disc brakes with new bushes etc, new brake pipes,
and the i'm going to sit it on 7inch revos with gold centers.
so by 2012 it should no longer be a bit of a sh*t to drive
if anyone know where to get these parts from i'm going to start buying them in the new year.
thanks
