Had a little mock up of the engine today, hope to have this built up and ready for install very shortly, got most of the parts together now, just saving pennies for a new baffled sump to replace the SD1 item that most people use.
Having a full workshop and access to proper body tools makes a difference, lads have been using a 'miracle pull' for the small dings, means less filler work, basically the centre prong lightly welds itself to the panel and allows you to lever against it and pull the ding out, a quick twist breaks the light weld, I had to have a go of course
Removed the battery tray from the engine bay as it boils above the V8 exhaust manifiold, it will be mounted in the boot, it was in the back rh corner as you look at this pic, the bkt that remains is for the washer bottle and wiper motor
Also the paint colour is chosen, and it isnt green any more, mainly because I thought my car was a nice shade of green until I compared it to the Signal green Mex we painted last week and its awfull , beige all the way ......
First coats of colour went on today, BL Pimento Red , these will be blocked back and are not the finish coats, these highlight any imperfections that may have been missed, easier to spot with a gloss coat on. Cheers, Paul
