Mk1gaz's new engine build

Here's a graph of the new engine spec verses the old one . Note the extra 25bhp at the top end although the "peak" figuire is only 6bhp more than the old 215bhp engine . This is also on the same Dyno-Dynamics dyno (bhp thief) where my 250+bhp 3.5 litre BMW Alpina made 220bhp (so 222 is pretty good with 4 cylinders , pump fuel and 1.5 litres less)

I smell some fishy.

It's got bigger ports . It should get another chunk of power later once we've finished tweaking the map and the cam timing . Goes like fooook with 0-109mph in 12.8sec today on a set of 175mm wide street tyres with 1000+ kilos to push

Cheers mate . 12.8secs at 109mph was the best one . Also ran a 12.9 and 4x 13.0's . Well pleased with that but i reckon it will go faster yet with a few engine tweaks later

Tran-x straight cut Type 9 gearbox with a 4:1 diff and 175/50/13 street rubber .
Don't worry about reaction times as the clock only starts ticking when your car moves . We don't even bother trying to get low reation times as a red light equals no time recorded and a long wait for another run .

good 60ft time. must hook up well despite the lack of rubber.
any thoughts of doing track days?
