The work going in to this car is just fantastic !
I built RTG554R back in 1983 and I am amazed to see our cars being restored ,this one in norway and NUG573V in belgium, it makes me me feel very proud to have been involved with the iconic cars

Standstill for a while, but here is a little update...:

Apparently, the roof have been changed at some point, but whitout blending C-pillar holes an seam welding. Found a few cracks as well. This is now taken care of.

Have also made up new(extension steel plate curves) and slightly bigger wheelarches, retaining the original inner well/arch. I hope this will be enough to clear 15" studded ice tyres without to much scratching. By the way, look at the details of the turret modification, all gas welded it seems.

I plan to put in more work hours in near future.

          Cheers, Jorn

Picture of the original car out on a snow rally in the beginning of the eighties.

Fabricated new bracket for brake fluid reservoairs.

I decided to use ATE bottles attached with hose clips.

Also made up a Filter-King bracket, I´ll maybe have to lift it even more to clear airfilters.

Found a VW jack on the "Ekeberg markedet" in Oslo, cost me £ 16. Quite similar to the one needed I think...

Jack lever was missing, but came from the US of A for $ 20 incl. shipping.

                            V. C. Jensen, South Swedish Rally 1982

Got this of Ebay for about £ 300, German make, twenty years old NOS.

                            Bayonett connection on base plate.

These devices should keep the coming co-driver busy....

Edit: Found a master time clock this evening on Ebay to, pictures coming when arrived!

Ordered new plates for the car, with classic/period style/look.

Also purchesed four CIBIE/VALEO Super Oscars. Not quite the look of the old ones, but these will do for me! Paid a very fair price, from the main dealer(import) in Norway.

Found a matching 8 day clock, this one used to sit in a BELL UH("Huey") helicopter. Both clocks made by SINN, germany.

                                HD g.box mount off Ebay.

                                A little parcel from Gartrac.

New complete Gartrac FF hub set, bought back home here for a very nice price.
