Martin trout who built yue originally is a mate of mine and was round last night looking at this thread.
He was stunned at the amount of rust but it was 14 years ago when the bodywork was started. He was saying the hole front end was replaced with new genuine panels but the bodyshop that fitted them made a right mess of it
He's now planing on registering on the site so he can put up some posts himselfsigpic

Hi Cyd,
That would be great to speak to Martin and find out a bit more information about the old girl. I've got a huge history file with the car including all the original invoices that Martin spent on the car back in 91-92 (some of the prices would make you cry)!!
I know that my bodyshop had to basically remove and re-fit the inner wings as they hadn't been put on very well at all, so that would explain a lot. I think the reason that it had rusted so badly was that after Martin sold the car, it went through 3 or 4 owners fairly quickly, who didn't give it as much love as he had done. I know for a fact that one owner didn't have a garage, so it was kept outside, and the guy I bought it from, had it stored in a very damp garage for over a year before I bought it. It's also very low and I think the front floor may have been scraped on speed humps, hence why the floors were shot. Also he must have spent a fortune at the chromers!! Very 90's!
Cheers
Neil.

Hi, Martin Trout here, finally managed to register!!! Can't believe the state the car ended up in and great to see you doing such a great job on the new restoration. The car must have had at least £15,000 spent on it since I owned it!! All the receipts and documentation I had for it were in a blue folder going back to 1980, have you still got the folder?? I spent approx 5 years trying to rebuild it and unfortunately gave up when we were expecting our first child. All of the stove enamelling, goodridge piping, stainless nuts and bolts were all done by me. The seats were capri seats that I had faced in leather and the 7.5 alloy wheels were squeezed under the arches after some serious beating with a 6ft bar with an angle on the end! Where are you situated? Would like to hear from you, I've got loads of stories about it if you are interested.
