My Golf with trailer/Mex will still outrun your car Neil. "Might" drive it there but weather dependant.

            • Got a bit more done this weekend, big thanks to "Sparky" Greg for sorting out the electrics and the monster cable for the battery in the boot .

The exhaust was right b*tch to fit!! But got there in the end, yes it's an Ashley system........... I know! Had to improvise the back box mounts to stop it fouling the rear valance, and had to cut about 2 inches off the middle section in order to stop the back section catching the tramp bars, but hopefully when we fire it up it should be ok........

Just got the brakes, fuel lines, fuel pump, and interior to sort out now.......!!!

                        • Not really Ian, it has had one fitted before by a previous owner (although it just had the standard tank fitted when I bought it), so all the holes for the straps were in place. The standard rubber filler neck is just a touch too short though (bought a new one from the MKII Club). When I bought the tank a few years ago (thanks Leon!) it came with a longer filler neck, which looked like it had been made up to fit, but when I pulled it out of storage, I found its starting to perish, so will probably buy a bit of black hose the right diameter and cut it to suit.

My main concern is if the sender units still working, as i've not tried it yet. I'm presuming that these are the same as the ones fitted to a standard tank??? If I need to get a new one.

Nelly, I fitted the one from the standard tank because when driving the car home, i saw it was working perfectly, didn,t want to take any chances, yes, its the same fitting,
