It seems to me that opinions on this subject are split, which considering this is a forum for like minded enthusiasts I am surprised by.
I would have expected this sort of thing to be universally condemned on a site like this. This sort of thing could lead to the theft of a genuine car. But i don't see how it will increase the amount of Escorts on our roads, It just leads to someone like me buying a car (at a price premium thinking its a genuine sport) only to have what is in fact is an 1100 reshell.
And yes as we all know its illegal.
What would happen if i then turn up on the lakes tour in my fake sport? I suppose all the experts on here would take great delight in pulling my car to bits! Some of whom seem to think this practice is not only OK but actively indulge in it!
I had often thought that buying a car from a member on here would be the safest option to avoid being stung, the more of these threads i read the less i believe that to be the case.sigpic
