Why have a track based show if you cant see some proper track action?
I feel that if the club opened the show to other variants of the rs marque ie standard ford classics, surely this would increase entrants and more importantly revenue through the gates.
Dont jump down my throat with the 'we are the RS brigade and no other car is worthy of parking next to mine' speach lol as im only trying to point out that the traders etc carry parts that fit standard cars aswell as the RS so it would be more enticing to them which in turn gets more people through the gates, and helps keep the costs down for the club

          Sorry.
meant to add about us owners like myself who are not a member of the RS owners club or any local club, but have a passion for the old school stuff.
since i am no longer a member of the club, i cant show my car and dont bother going to shows as i dont want to park in regular car park,
I know quite a few guys with some nice mk1 and mk2 escorts that are not interested in the club thing but would like to go to the odd show

sorry lol but ive had a drink or two

That would make a difference, as lots of people don't bring there car , but if they could get inside into the right section it would make more viewing , as let's be frank here , we only go to see the cars , no cars no show ?
More needs to be done , more staff from visiting rsoc clubs to direct the cars to the correct areas . The weather plays it's part , July was good weather so that helps , more cars can get out , but to get back to being bigger , more thought needs to be put in to what is happening . Only my thoughts .

I went last year because it was in September, last time I went was 21 years ago. Couldn't go this year because of work commitments in July, personally I think September is a better time of the year to hold it, but looking through some of the photos posted I did get the feel it wasn't as good.

Yes I agree. I visit shows but I don't go in the RS2, might not be in the car park when I come out.

For those saying they didn't have a stand to park there car on , why didn't someone ask Dave if they could use the rse name and book a rse stand

Would be better if you can just turn up in your motor and be directed to secure parking within the show itself, and your car can become part of the show. without having to arrange it through other parties

that would be lovely in an ideal world but such a pain in the arse for the show organiser, man power to sort the area, how big of an area do you set aside for people that might turn up,what can/cant park in there

                        rs/avo.

From our point of veiw a combined RS National day and AVO day.
We all know that this website will get a lot of mk2s there on its own.

And the clubs could both paid the money to take it to a "stanford hall" type venue.

If it was supported like the lakes we and everyone else would "trade" there.

As it is at the mo,were down to 3 shows a year max!

This is indeed available on the day. I was on the gate directing traffic. Anyone with an RS that was not booked into the show was asked if they would like secure in-show parking.
