    Time for my renewal

mk2 escort mexico with NA/YB on throttle bodies

currently with Adrian Flux using Equity Red Star but renewal has gone up a bit from last year so thought i'd shop around.

So far had no luck at all

Footman James - wont cover modifications
    RSOC/Heritage - wont cover modifications
    Hagerty - wont cover modifications
Competiton Car Insurance - wont cover if not used in motorsport
REIS - wont cover if not used in motorsport

any ideas for any others i can try?

whilst on the insurance bit, what do most people do about on track insurance, as hagerty dont insure now for track use? i take it hagerty wont insure you as the engine is of a different type, as my car is not standard but isnt a problem,(until something happens no doubt)

if its used at least once per year for a track day or other motorsport you might want to try competition car insurance... theres some talk of that on another thread here... http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/...ad.php?t=61185

typed it all into moneysupermarket who do have a modified car form, and only 'flux direct' would quote.. interesting to see what they consider to be a 'mod' - "external stickers indicating increased performance" for example.. maybe a good thing that i've never bothered with a 'cosworth' badge on the boot then

tried endsleigh, they cant quote based 'ford escort mexico' isnt listed on their car database... hmmm

performance direct said they would call me back

loudboy, looking forward to seeing your installation when its done

yeah but took them all of 30 secs to decide they wouldnt cover an nayb engined car, even as a member of the rsoc - didnt even ask about my totally clean driving record etc

I have just used Flux to insure my new rally car.I disclosed every single thing which is none standard. It came out a £107..How good the cover is when push come to shove is anyones guess though...They were one of the few that would insure a radically modified car...

They are taking the **** . Do you have any other classic cars or just the Escort ? The more you have the cheaper it is too insure them , i have a classic fleet policy and they insure anything that's modded , fully comp with agreed value and unlimited mileage etc etc . As long as they are kept in a garage at night then no probs .
I've got 5x classic cars insured for £550 and none are standard .
sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!

It does seem that its pot luck if hagerty want to insure a modified car or not.
