    I think its b***ox tbh

Perhaps Steve there is no need for the sarky answer as sadly we all know the 300+ year old National Heritage Tree was damaged and there is no sarcasm implied in my question as I had simply found that Trader camping is allowed at Stanford Hall at other events as per the link I added

The AVO not being able to afford any possible fine is NOT Stanford Hall's problem so I "assume" it is The AVO that has taken the decision to no longer allow traders to camp - yet it is being banded around that the blame for No Trader camping is Stanfords decision yet the VW show clearly shows Trader Camping is allowed

Or has The AVO been singled out by Stanford Hall with the No Trader Camping decision ?

Yet in your words to Dave Robinson :-

"How could the club stop it Dave? Traders pay Stanford Hall"

So I read it as Stanford Hall charge the traders yet it is The AVO that get the blame ?

Or am I getting it wrong ?

the thing is John are the guilty party aware what they have actually done, have the AVO club notified them, as it seems well known who has caused this problem

it happened early morning on the sunday at last years show, smoke was spotted coming out of tree soon after the show opened and i then spent the rest of the morning pouring water onto the tree and when smoke was still coming out hours later i had to tell the ground staff what had happened.
then spent the rest of the day keeping an eye on the tree.

the club has no hard proof at the guilt party, only here say, if the person responsible had a ounce of guilt i would of hoped they would of approached the club by now.

My understanding is that a "trader" cooked his supper on the Saturday night.

Instead of safely disposing of his still warm BBQ coals he made the error of tipping the coals down a hole around the base of a tree

The coals then continued to smoulder and the root bed of the tree was damaged

Quite simply all that was needed was to soak the coals in water till cold and place in a steel bin or take home and dispose of them there.

I dont feel any malice was intended by the "trader" but because they have not apologised to The AVO or Stanford Hall regarding their momentary lack of judgement this latest "Super Injunction" will continue to drag on and keep raising its ugly head

Also the "trader" will of course have to answer why they masqueraded to Stanford Hall as a bona fide AVO trader yet they did NOT have a stand on the Sunday - That is what STINKS and is now affecting genuine traders such as Kev Curtis

NOTE :- All this goes to show the lengths some people will go to save spending a tenner at Brook Meadow for camping

the person dont alot more than just tip his coal into a hole around the base of a tree, there was a wooden fence post/stake on the floor near by with the end blackened where they had use it to push the coals deep under the tree and then placed there rubbish in a bag under the tree aswell.

Perhaps Dave, there is no need for the aggression. I'm now reluctant to answer your questions as it appears you are looking to pick fault in whatever I say, even if it is true. It seems you wish to answer all your own questions anyway, so there is little point in me spoiling your grandstanding.

What is done is done and neither me or any other member of the AVO committee is to blame, so be kind enough to pick on the right person, I'm sure they wouldn't enjoy the grief any less than I do but at least it would be justified.

Sorry if you feel I am being aggressive as that is not my intention Steve

As for your reluctance to answer sensible questions that is a decision you have taken and I nor any other person has any influence whatsoever over your decision not to answer such questions.

I agree what is done is done and the person responsible should formally apologise to both The AVO and Stanford Hall otherwise this "discussion" will continue to raise its head from time to time and sully what is otherwise a great Old Skool event.
