Kev I sympathise with your plight but welcome you with my wide open hairy arms and the Ipod will be freshly charged with plenty of bangin tracks at Brook Meadow
are you fetching some eggs up kev for a bit of breakfast sunday morning shame one person should spoil it for others that have supported the day for so many yearslike d says let your hair down sat night
cant you sneak in on saturday, saying youre a trader, sleep in your transit, then just enjoy the sunday as punter and not trading at all.
how does the club allow this
heard this story today
How could the club stop it Dave? Traders pay Stanford Hall direct, so if someone said they were trading, we let them in on Saturday to set up. That's why it's been changed for this year so it won't happen again but it has spoiled it for one or two people I'm afraid.
It's not impossible for traders to trade though, they've just got to try a bit harder and work with us. Just for the record (and to put paid to the perception that we have alienated lots of traders), the camping has nothing whatsoever to do with why Jack Payne isn't going. He's actually booked to got in hospital on the 4th June for both cartilages doing and has been told not to drive for two weeks. He assures me that if he has a speedy recovery and he is fit enough, he will be there as usual.

should the club not be trying harder to work with the traders...
ebay etc has made it far easier for traders to work without having the expense etc of going to the show setting up, and trading even if they make nothing on the day....
the likes of mr curtis keep the scene alive with there stall over the show season and must be a massive loss to the show in anyones eyes...
i very much doubt that the avo club will be leaving there spareparts unattended on the saturday night!!
Smudger - Why does Stanford Hall allow traders to camp for the VW show ?
Perhaps they didn't organise a show where someone set light to a 300+ year old National Heritage tree and then stare the possibility of having to wind the club up because they couldn't afford the possible fine Dave.

We always try hard to work with traders and we're not stopping any of them coming - we're just not able to offer any camping on site.
No, we won't be leaving our spares unattended, we will have people on site watching over all the stalls which have been set up set up and all the cherished cars which have been left by owners who are camping elsewhere. I really think we've done all we can to sort this problem. I guess it's just a case of you can never please everybody.
Bottom line is that there are consequences to the action of one individual being reckless last year and this is the result. Sorry but that's just the way it is.
