This may be a bit of a stab in the dark & has prob been looked at already but i had a similar problem a couple of years ago with my Subaru.I parked up & on pressing the key fob it wouldn't lock the car & after so long the immob cut in leaving me unable to start the car.I popped to Halfords to get a new key fob battery which i replaced but as i'd left the old battery out too long i had to get the key re-coded to the immob to then lock it.
Just an idea if it's not been looked at.

I asked GJ on Sunday; he said it was a broken wire in the loom, that took two Ford technicians sent from Dunton to sort out
            Cheers Rob.

Rob, it appears i got it wrong and it was a couple of guys from Ford technical who who assisted (thatll teach me to listen more closely) however they had been in touch with some people at Dunton

will give a full update later chaps but certainly appreciate the help

Not been messing about fitting some extra equipment have you Graham, which has caused the problem?
