  • FORD 3 year warranty

My Year and a half old FORD C-max has got a pond in the passenger footwell ,so took it back to the main stealer and asked for it to be repaired Under Warranty..
I was promptly told that the warranty does not cover this after the first year ,it tells you in the book they said, who the **** reads it, you assume 3 years means 3 years when buying it and you aint told otherwise.

Anyway had to call FORD Customer relations and they gave the go ahead to be repaired but theyve not been very forthcoming about if they are going to cover the full cost or not ?
Its now been away since last Wednesday and I have a courtesy car which I have to pay them Insurance on daily basis so the cost of this is mounting UP.

FORDs Warranty sucks at the moment in my view. wonder if they treat RS focus customers the same way after year one!

last november me and the missus went to our local ford dealer to have a look at the rs focus .
half way through the conversation the sales man told us the 1st years warrenty was a full ford warrenty and the second and 3rd year was a dealer warrenty and only covered suspension ,engine and gearbox .
wiring , trim and brakes 1st year only .
im a mazda tech and even they have a full 3 year warrenty

At least they told you about it, other manufacturers warrantys surely must be better.

water leaks are not covered in the second or third year of warranty! if the leak is in the passenger footwell it may be the air con drain which will be covered! but any sealing problems wont be!

the second and third year warranty is any mechanical or electrical component! brakes, clutches etc are wear and tear items but would be covered if there was a manafacturing defect!

LETS FACE IT WARRANTYS aren't worth the paper they're written on, my mate had a issue with the roll and lock cover on his ford ranger. I rang up ford customer services on his behalf and they caved in after I told them i was gonna sell him an L200

                            Warranty...

I remember doing a tour of the factory at Dagenham many years ago....on the line were Fiestas running alongside in the same line were Mazda's...whichever model resembled the Fiesta...was it the 121 or the 323.....

At that time I asked the warranty question...Fiesta got 1 year...Mazda had a three year warranty....

The only difference appeared to be the badging...

                            Russ.
