just found out that the car is marine blue under the metallic blue.

Morcheen I know we have hijacked your thread slightly.
But the car you are describing sounds very interesting.
So it's a genuine marine blue RS1600..?
I would have thought it would be a special build car.
Is there a special build plate on the drivers side strut top..???
As an example, SBO 01 would be bubble arches.
Also look at the colour code on the VIN tag. The letter Y would state a non standard colour.

the person who seen the car said there was a plate on that side on the inner wing,slightly bigger than the plates on the slam panel.he was to busy looking at the rest of the car to look at anything written on it.he is quite sure it's marine blue after seeing it on the door shut area.

If it is a special build car.
It's those details that will tell you what was fitted at the factory as part of the special build order. The first part will tell you the number it was too.
Example SBO.152 would be the 152nd special build car to be built.
Under that number will be several other special build codes.

See if you can get some under bonnet shots from the guy looking at it.

is this the same colour as the special build bubble arched rs 2k that was for sale at days of grace earlier on in the year plus i think it was at avo national day ....
