I had an Ex Works Rekkie car that was Mettalic Blue with Gold RS Stripes ,steel big winged with custom interior and as far as I am aware was painted that way by Ford as when I painted it after quite a few pannel mods it was blue in all the floor pans and inside the doors.
      Don't know if this helps

                    This ones a Mexico....
                    Taken from Classic Ford 2001.
Interesting little read at the botom of the picture.
Wonder what the reg of the RS1600 was.

I wrote to CF about that when it was out in 2001 .After several months of chasing a response they finaly replied and said they didn't know anything further about the car which I assume was the sister car to mine .
The usual CF Bull as they seem to no nothing about the classic cars ( too young )
KL seems to know far more and has most probably forgotten more than they know.
I think it was originally via Withers of Winsford and was used by RAC
I would welcome any news on it whereabouts and what it currently has the Reg on .

                        DVLA Site says....
                        VEV 484L
                        Date of Liability.........14/04/1983
                        Date of Registration...24/11/1972
                        Clylinder capacity......1601
                        Colour.....................White

So it looks like it's been off the road since you wrote it off.

Here are the other cars registerd in that batch.
                        VEV 478L 1601cc Green
                        VEV 479L RS1600 1601cc Yellow
                        VEV 480L RS1600 1601cc Red
                        VEV 481L Mexico 1601cc Bronze
                        VEV 482L Mexico 1601cc Yellow
                        VEV 483L Mexico 1601cc Black.
                        VEV 484L RS1600 1601cc White
                        VEV 506L RS1600 1601cc Blue

So the closest RS1600 to VEV 483L is Your old car.

As for the guys at Classic Ford, someone had to do the research
surely they could have told you where the info came from.
I'm guessing the photo would have come from Fords Photo department.

Don't recall seeing any white on the car when I had it ?

                            Aaron
They where pretty wide those steels, where also sprayed gold when I first got the car.Do you like the lower picture where we are lifting a wheel.
That was on the 1982 Beaver Rally I think early December .****ed it down all night, even treated myself to a brand new set of yokkos ,first time I had ever bought new tyres LOL.Think we finished about 6 O/A ,16 xflow mex engine,BDA was long gone.
