Paul, trading in ID's is a very grey area. There are too many arguements for both sides so its pointless arguing ! Who has more proof of ownership of the ID, you or the other fella ? If you beleive you are in the majority then fill out the V23 and declare it scrapped with the DVLA then nobody has it !!

Either way good luck, and do what you feel most comfortable with. If its a reshell with another ID then go for it.

the car will not be...!!!........i have now sold it and it will be on its way to be a rally car very soon...so this car will not be done

the id is in my history for me to look at and remind me never to do anything like this again as i t will come back and bite you on the BUM....!!!

just look at all the works cars that were RESHELLED by FORD as someone already pointed out.....who cares.....

as you said its already sold, but you should have gone ahead with the build

just out of intrest....i made a phone call today to the DVLA to ask them about the cars id...
they told me i can get another one put on it if the car was to be proved that its a genuine mexico and the year it was made
a letter from the RSOC and a inspection from the DVLA will do so iam told by the DVLA
but the only thing is it will not have a GCAT vin number so thats out the window aswell

its still sold anyway...
