Paul, ive just re-read this and imo you should just build this mex, get it re registered if you can, new ID or surely DVLA could help with this and carry on as normal, as for different shells and IDs- mine has ****ed me more times than i care to remember, that ive been tempted just to buy a built GP4 shell and register it on my ID any way who would know?.

Thats my opinion and 2p's worth.

At the end of the day a shell is a "part" !

If I wear out my axle I fit a new or used part

If engine blows up I fit a new or used part

If a wing is replaced I use a new or 2nd hand part

etc etc

If a car has been "scrapped" and an ID sold it is the registered keeper who scrapped car and then sold the ID that has broke the rules (and maybe the law !)

That person should notify DVLA that vehicle has been scrapped and relinquish the V5 and ID

In my opinion should anybody be contacted later on as a previous owner and they say to the proud new owner of a "mint" Mexico "I scrapped that car years ago" then they have just admitted to breaking the law as they should have notified DVLA !

.......i got a PM of the origanal owner of the mexico ID last night telling me it was his id and that the car was crushed years ago.........

.......its a shame that he didnt keep quiet about it ....?....but its out now.....

Of course you must declare to me that you are buying strut tops off me as a re-manufactured part to replace a corroded/damaged or worn out item !

I think if you had built it, said **** all then got caught out either selling it or claiming it to be a now known to be dead car then its your own fault, I said my red one was a reshell, but it was reshelled into a RS2 shell

build it paul, after all its only what ford did to their rally shells, at least you will be using a gen rs shell, loads of pops out there who are running about on rs id's.
but at the end of the day you have to be happy with what your doing and if you dont mind the sly remarks etc that you will get off some people get it done and enjoy it.
