what white colour did you use for the shell-paint ?
what type and what brand ?
thanx
used many litres of ford diamond white. 2-pack. cant remember brand, was from my local panel/paint supplier. can look through my recipts and find out if your that intrested?
if you want i would appreciate it. This is the exact white as i want mine to be thanks already !
car looks fab.
it is a standard colour. ask your local paint supplier for ford diamond white. every brand should be the same shade.you will also need the 2k activator too.
anyway, my recipt just has a part no.(a352-1)diamond white 2k. on it. i remember it had "pro-paint" on the tins. was from the bmf group.(hadrian)
get some pics of your car up then.
cheers.
just about finished her now. last few little jobs done...........all the trim is now finished, just needs a bit of a clean up. i made another bracket for the exhaust, as the peter lloyd systems dont have a bracket in the middle. was only held on by the manifold and the back box. so made one up for the middle to give it a bit of support.
fitted washer bottle, thought about moving it inside or to the boot, but it ment stripping back the wiring i had re-taped up, so inner wing it went....
fitted breather tank.................
got a sticker set from pj graphics. wheel arches and bonnet stickers all pre-shaped and wernt too bad to fit............
all thats left to do is the front brakes. will have to wait for them until funds allow. have had a little drive on my road to check everything works
(back brakes working), all seems ok, engine sounds very healthy on them carbs.
roll on next spring.
as its now 99% done, i will finish this resto post off.
there are a couple of bits on the car which i am not 100% happy with. its never going to be a show car, it will be driven and used as much as possible. i wouldnt of done all this work to leave it sitting in the garage.
looking back to when i first got it, i didnt know what i had let myself in for. but there was no way i could afford to buy a good finished one the way prices have gone. i have spent a fair chunk of cash on it, but i was able to buy bits each month as i went along, not shelling out thousands in one hit to buy a finished one. i have kept a track of what i have spent, and i havnt done too bad. everything on the car has been done by myself and my brother. he saved me alot by painting it, and helped with the welding.
i have never welded in anger before, but its not to bad once you get the hang of it. jobs i was dreading wernt that bad. like the wiring, didnt have a clue but it all just fell into place.
the car was done on a budget, looking for bargains second hand where possible.
if anyone out there is thinking of doing one, go for it. have a go yourself and save yourself thousands these restoration places charge. its really not that hard.
finally, a big thanks to all who supplied parts at non-ebay prices...some who gave me parts for free.!(you know who you are )
roll on spring.
