  • At least you have it sorted now mate, no fun when your working with the wrong instructions, good job you realized or you could have been at it for a long time.
Its going to look brilliant when you have it finished.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

      • I've been getting on with a few more jobs on the Sport, I've been doing some repair patches on the original rubber moulded mats I managed to get hold of. Repaired some splits & cracks using some offcuts of black pond liner I acquired stuck on the underside with some black waterproof sealer, it seems to have worked quite well...then all cleaned up & painted with tyre wall black, after putting some carpet underlay down first I fitted them in. They're a little bit shiny still at the moment but should dull down a bit after a while.

Also put my bargain find 2-dial dash clocks in..

original 2 switch centre panel fitted with NOS switches & choke cable, dash parcel shelves in..

Still a bit more to do to finish off the interior. Also now the secondhand radiator I fitted has also started leaking so it will have to come out yet again I've now bought a brand new one so hopefully it will be third time lucky

That's it for now, more updates soon

        cheers, Stu

        • Some finishing touches, I commissioned one of these key rings to be made up for the Sport using a photo of the wing sticker on my car, just had an email saying it will be in the post to me on Monday

He's now got some more of them for sale on Ebay along with some other Escort key rings.

          Cheers, Stu.

Yeah I bought a GT keyring from him a year or so for RAX, they are good quality, I'm looking forward to the Sport one arriving

                      cheers, Stu.

                      • Bit more of the interior done, restored Sport steering wheel on along with a few other bits & pieces, still got seat belts to fit, need to bolt seats in & a few bits to finish off on the interior..

                        New door cards fitted..

Brakes have been bled but pedal still goes to the floor so expect its still got air in the system so will have to do again. A few more bits to be done in the engine bay then its ready for the big start up!! Probably the 1st time in 25 years as its been off the road since 1990!

                        That's it for now,

                        Cheers, Stu.

I bought both front & rear seat covers from Aldridge Trim, then had a local upholsterer do the padding & fit them to the seat frames.

                                cheers, Stu.
