mk1 1300 sport
Hi
Great to see you salvaging a 1300 sport,i wish i had your skill, then mine wouldnt
have cost me as much
I have the same model on a 72 plate in diamond white, with the pod rev counter,
i purchased it in 1987.I never could bear to get rid of the pod rev counter i sought of grew attached to it,being somewhat of a quirky feature and so distinctive.I had a full restoration done not so long ago, though she was in better shape than yours she still had new floors front panel top wings, inner and outer sills and rear panel, also put in a group4 tunnel, which makes it easier for the 5 speed box, also its running a 1700 engine,i kind of wish she was still a standard in some ways and happy shes not in others,i will eventually post photos once i get a new laptop sorted.

Thanks all! Its nice to know there's interest in my project.
Progress is a bit slow at the moment, still waiting for the go-ahead to take the shell for shotblasting .
I've paintstripped the outer doors & given a coat of etch primer, I'm going to get the inner frames shotblasted.
Also paintstripped the bonnet back to bare metal & etch primed.

Also making my first attempt at replacing a door skin on the passenger door, it had quite a bit of rust along the bottom, I did start repairing it but then decided it might be better to replace the door skin..
old skin removed, had to weld in a repair at the bottom then a coat of rust killer & zinc primer inside.
folded over edges of new skin over frame & a trial fit

Not too bad a fit, welded skin to the frame. Gap is ok, although the door sticks out a bit in one corner, will have to play about with it a bit more & see if i can get it to fit a bit better. Will also have to get a hole cutter to do the door handle hole. Thats as far as I've got at the moment.
cheers, Stu.
