great work stu, glad I told you all about the floor problem before you bought her off me - would of hated for you to find out yourself m8
I remember you told me it was pretty solid with good chassis rail!
This is a really good job Stu, I love a resto thread like this, it puts all the work people do into perspective, I'm sure the car will be stunning when finished and I'm guessing you'll never ever sell it.
Can't wait to see it in the flesh - keep up the good work.

it was till I looked closer steve
the amount of work needed was the reason I sold it - I don't have the time or the skill to carry out anything like this
Cheers for all the comments!
A bit more progress made, cleaned paint off floorpan & weld-thru primed
Then put new chassis rails in, held in place with some self tapping screws, plug welded through then ground welds down flush then a coat of primer to stop them rusting for now.
also plug welded the rear part of the new floor to the old part.
Its starting to take shape & all fits nicely
Very nice mate, wish those new floors were available when I started doing my mk2.....never mind I can cut it all out again in a few years and put a nice new one in like that lol
Thankyou all for the kind comments.
Bit of an update, put the rear seat panel in place with self-tappers, then welded in & gave a coat of primer.
Then did the same with both front seat boxes, also welded inner sills to rear quarters & A-posts inside.
Also done some repairs to the passenger side lower bulkhead.
Cut out rot back to clean steel,
made up a new repair section to join the new floor to original bulkhead & welded in,
Then given a coat of primer, its not perfect but should look better once prepped & stonechipped.
