    • Hi all, bit of an update on the sport project. The rear drivers side rear wheel tub has turned into a bit of a nightmare, it was much more rotten than I'd thought, put a screwdriver through it all over the place

      • Only one thing for it, I've had to buy a complete inner tub from ex-pressed panels....

which has meant un-doing my previous tub repair in the tank well area. I've removed the rear tub, found more of the famous woodgrain steel patch repairs tacked on & covered in black sealer

        tub removed

inner & outer sill full of filler, glassfibre & rust!

        • Tub out & all cleaned up

Then made a start fitting new tub in place

          welded outer section in place

I next lined up inner section

            • Welded it all in & cleaned up welds

Then gave it a coat of zinga primer to protect it.

              Thats it for now,
              cheers, Stu.

                      • Hi all, next job is to sort the floors out, its had floorpans put in in the past, but they've been welded over the seat boxes & mounting holes, inner sills have been plated over, also the floorpans haven't been welded onto the chassis rails, the gap has just been filled with black sealer.
Firstly I've bought a load of box section steel & welded in a frame to keep everything rigid before I start cutting out the floors.

Gone a bit overboard with the frame but want to make sure nothing twists or moves

                        • Then made a start removing the chassis rails, they had a bit of rot in them near the spring hangers,
                          plenty of thick sealer

                          so far so good

Great job nothing should move there while your working on the floor....best to go overboard a little than have something twist! Those rear arches are looking really good too!
