BTW back panel will more than likely be blacked out, its a personal thing I know but after owning one in the late eighties I think it suits the car.
I hear you I'm not one for originality myself I just love a nice shiny escort. My racecar has the back panel black treatment, I reckon it's the best look on a mk2

No going back now as I blacked it out this morning, will let it harden off and then put the pinstripe around it.

Hello from Yorkshire Moose! Do the Aussie cars have a blanking cover for the UK fuel filler hole?

Bloody hell progress is slow as the garage is like a flipping sauna so I'm just diddling with little stuff for now. Pictures are a little crappy as taken off the phone but you can get the idea :-)

Here's another shot of the car as I went to go see it this morning to check out the bonnet and yes it needs doing again. Obviously the black around the windows still has to be done but well impressed so far. One question though I know it's perhaps a personal taste but what's the reason(s) for blacking out the sill, personally I'm thinking of leaving in colour as I think it looks ok or did it leave the factory with blacked out sills?
as far as a no it was certon ones that had black a long the sills .
maybe depends on age etc .or if a custom model.
                  cheers

Doors lined up this morning and then flooded all cavities/inner wheel arches/roof gutters/roof pillars/doors/sils etc with corrosion inhibitor. Stinky smelly job and the car will need a good a polish to get some residue off. But well pleased

                          Hi moose

I may seem a bit thick but could you tell me why aussie rs2000s have a petrol filler fitted at the rear and the original at the side why not just use the original.

your car looks amazing mate loving that colour

Is it to do with the Aussie car requiring a larger high capacity petrol tank, being fitted underneath with rear filler would take up less space than in the boot?
