Looking really good now mate, what seat runners are you using ? because I cant see the rear bolt plates that sit between the outer sill and chassis if your using original ones. Be a shame to get some paint on and then find you need to do a bit more welding.

Fishnet recaros with the up stands on the runners tony, well spotted il knock some of those plates up and get some spotted on before the paint goes on, r they usually m6 or m8 captive nuts?

Just checked the ones that were on kermit Jon, and they are M6 that appear to be welded to the plate that was then welded to the floor, the centre ones either side of the tunnel are still on the car and are deffo also M6.

Well I was hoping the scort would have been painted by now but this little devils turned up and scupperd my plans......cute little thing tho
Called Holly been busy this week building a run for her and intensive training will have to start in the next week or 2 to let her no who's boss lol

from left to right, Rhea, Rio, Hollie and Heidi with Indi at the back, These are usually what slow my progress down when im trying to get something done on the cars lol.

Was going to go silver but never painted anything more than a set of wheels so I've settled on white as I like it and its easy.

Still not managed to get the car sealers or painted been having problems with compressor passing water so ordered some fittings to set the water trap up on the compressor, in the meantime stripped the axle down and cleaned all the parts up ready to get shot blasted. Cleaned springs up ready

Then gave the axle casing a good steam clean, need to make a blanking plates for the diff hole and the ends where half shaft fit it to stop any blast media going into my nice clean casing! The axle I got wasn't an rs axle (ghia axle) so had to remove anti roll bar brackets ready to weld on anti tramp bar brackets. Some of factory welds look a bit poor so might clean them up and re-weld after blasting then a nice coat of fresh black paint! Before re-assembly

Not a great deal of progress today but did manage to knock some wooden blanks up for the axle casing to stop any blasting media entering the axle, was going to use metal but didn't have any handy and think the ply should last ok during blasting


Still waiting for the battery tray to arrive in the post, nearly forgot about this, can't paint inner wings until its fitted!!

Battery tray has landed and got it fitted,

Had to put another thin skin of filler over the inner above the tray as it burnt some of the high build primer etc off whilst welding but shouldn't take much to tidy that area up again.
Cars all masked up now ready to go,

Hopefully got a few quiet days off work so with a bit of luck Thursday/Friday it will be getting done at long last!
